Texas Tinfoil - Strayhorn to run as a Dem.?

Ok, so I do not have any proof at all that this is going to happen, but a couple of things seem pretty strange in Grandma's campaign.
The word "Republican" is conspicuously absent from her campaign web site, I only saw it mentioned twice under "news", no big elephants, no word "Republican" plastered on the front page.
Strayhorn has not yet filed to run for the governor job yet, and the Republican Party has decided that Susan Combs should take Strayhorn's job as comptroller.
Gov. Perry has the loony right of the party all sewn up, with his relentless pandering to the religious whackos.
Strayhorn would have a hard time getting out of the primary.
Strayhorn has been courting democratic donors and the field in the Democratic Party primary is not very strong or visible, yet. Strayhorn has already switched parties once in 1985, so her selling out to help her own gains is not a problem.
The Republicans don't want her in their playground anymore, so could she just switch sides and be the most recognizable Democratic candidate since Ann Richards? Could she win the primary? Would this eventually be good for Texas democrats statewide?
The thought really sickens me, and I hope I am wrong, but I am scared the crazy bitch just might do it.
